They serve beer for sure and I think other drinks as well although I've only had beer.
No drive thru, you can however go inside and get your order to go.
I believe they have breakfast early on weekends
Nice little Tex-Mex place in Fort Stockton and with the name OJ I was expecting authentic Mexican food and thats what I got! The waiter was fast. Got there right at lunch time so wasn't expecting a fast meal, but everything came out quick. The chips are good but the salsa wasn't an authentic Mexican salsa, it was aTex Mex flavored salsa but it was still good. Ordered the Tacos OJ plate and the tacos are actually AUTHENTIC! They taste just like something you would eat in OJ (Ojinaga). The beans had some type of flavor in them and are pretty good. The rice tho was a generic Uncle Ben's rice catastrophe!!! I poured the red chilli that came with the tacos all over it and I still couldn't eat it!!! 😂😂Good thing was the main portion was authentic. I give it three stars just cause the rice was terrible. If not for that it would be a solid 4!
I decided to give this place a try based on the reviews previously posted, terrible decision. I ordered a combo plate to go at 08:04 pm [based on receipt time] did not receive food until 9:15 pm. And Yes, they do close at 09:00 pm. This is what they gave me after I asked for my money back. Btw, not (1) person in the kitchen was wearing a mask. I pray 🙏 no one in this kitchen is sick with the Covid 19. I spoke with several other guest who states that they have wanted up to two hours. To many other Mexican restaurants in the area to waist your time here. GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Btw, tip was paid for in advance 1hr 15 minutes in advance. 👎 🤨
OMG what a great place to eat
Loved it great place ..... Awesome fresh tortillas( flour)
Love the menudo. I try to come every week.
While getting our car fixed by a mechanic across the street(stranded on a road trip) we decided to have some lunch. They weren't open yet but were kind enough to let us in and wait inside. Great service, great food. Stopped by on the way back through a week later and had the same great experience!! Definitely reccomend!!!
We loved it and worth the wait. You sit and you do wait for your food... ordered taco plate, husband order Mexican plate combo and every thing came out hot. Other places fast warm food...Ay TACOS O J great hot food. I really enjoyed the local owned restaurant.
Authentic Mexican fare. Large portions & delicious. Inexpensive. Don't be fooled by outside appearance enjoyable local hotspot.
The food was soooo freaking awesome. The waitress however wasn't very attentive. She was obviously used to having her usual crowd of regular customers. We're from out of town and I will try to come back and see if things change.
The food was very good but it did take a while to get our food.I would highly recommend giving this place a try but give yourself a lot of time.
Slow poor service, rather nasty restrooms, food about average for a Texas Mexican restaurant. Had the combo plate - one thing I do like is that everything could be cut with a fork - though it's not enough to save the meal. 2.5 stars is generous. Will I return? Unlikely.
The food was awesome.
Really good meal. 4 adult meals for $54 including the tip. The red sauce is very spicy. There are signs saying be prepared to wait, but we did not have to wait. The iced tea is so weak it tasted like sweet water. We would come back, if we ever are in Fort Stockton.
Loved this place. Food is wonderful and the service, friendly.
Melt in your mouth enchiladas were amazing!! Rice, beans salsa all delicious. Highly recommended.
Wow! It was one of the best random discoveries ever. The staff was super friendly and nice, but the food was off the hook excellent. Shrimp tacos five stars. Enchiladas five stars Great salsa it was just a fantastic dinner experience. Who would know! I highly recommend if you're driving across Texas stop here and have a meal. You won't regret it.
Awful service. This place needs waiters that care about customer satisfaction. We were seated and the waitress told us the wait for food was going to be 45 min - 1 hour, we agreed to wait and she replied "Ugh, I just want to go home already". Had to ask for more drinks, chips, water, etc. They ran out of ice....Also no margaritas here. :-( Portions are small for the price. Salsa was good.
Amazing small sort-of-hidden restaurant. Enchiladas were fantastic and all the food over multiple trips seemed authentic and fresh. Free nachos and salsa while you wait for your food, too!
Everything has so much flavor and it all tasted fresh. Prices are reasonable and the servings are plenty. I loved the molcajete and the brisket tacos. Service was not bad but not good. This is Diego's favorite place ever! Well done OJ.
Foods good but, not when they rip you off and don’t want to refund your money when they charge you for something you didn’t even get.
The food is good. Too bad they abuse the costumer. I ordered carne asada and they brought me ground beef, only had one dosxx and charged me for two, didn't ask for another modelo and brought me one (my fault, I shouldn't have drink it) and they also automaticly charge a gratuity of 15% and there was only 3 of us. We are not local, trying new places, but will not come back to this restaurant for the rest of our staying in town.
I love this place!!! I try to go at least once a month when I am in town. I went with my grandmother and boyfriend last time, and it was so great. I got the menudo, my grandma got beef tacos, and my boyfriend got a burrito. Each of these items was hot and delicious! The portions are great; it's plenty of food every time. Yes, the wait is a little long, but they make all the food fresh and it is totally worth it.
Wow! 5 stars plus some planets and asteroids..incredible
Great find through yelp! Yelp wins again! We drove up and ordered at the window. Super friendly staff inside. We waited outside (COVID times - May 2020) and our food came out an average speed. We were very impressed with the portion sizes and the food was very delicious! My father had the fried catfish and he seriously raved about it. My chicken tacos were great and covered with lots of toppings! Everything was fresh and perfect and I highly recommend you get the catfish or tacos. There weren't many options in this small town but wow, we seemed to hit the jackpot! If you are in Fort Stockton, this is the place to go!!
My parents and I stopped here in January of 2017 on the way to El Paso and Cd. Juarez. Yelp and Google recommended this place. My parents absolutely enjoyed the food. I think my mother got some tacos al carbon or something along the lines. It was so good in fact that on their way back to Houston they stopped by here again because they knew they could trust the quality of the food. Definitely speaks volumes about the establishment. Definitely recommend if you're ever in need of quality Mexican food.
Okay, here's the thing. The food here is actually really good. It's tasty, comes out hot, the chips and salsa were on point. But, and this is a huge but. YOU WILL BE WAITING...A LONG TIME.Maybe Tacos OJ believes that good things come to those that wait, because dang, you will be waiting. We visited on Saturday 12/28/2019 and the place was half full. Chips came out quick and our drink orders were delivered quickly, so far so good.We placed our orders and then almost 50 minutes later(yes you read that right) our food finally arrives. I have no idea what's going on in their kitchen but wow.If the place is actually busy you could be looking at over an hour for some chalupas. For this reason alone I must give Tacos OJ only 3 stars.
Very good Mexican food plates. I like to try a different meal each time I go, and most of my meals have been very very good. I enjoy the Mexican sodas they offer, sodas in glass bottles made with real cane sugar, or a beer like Modelo. The restaurant is usually packed whenever I go, and for good reason the food is great and people come back for more.
Came to try this place out after my drive in from San Antonio and I couldn’t even get seated. No workers and the only waitress at register was rude. It’s true what they say, there’s no place like our big city. West Texas has been nothing but a disappointment. Hi
Had the $9.99 lunch special of the day. It came with 3 delicious tacos that they grill plus more rice & beans than I could eat. The rice & beans were very flavorful. The chicken in the tacos was tender and plentiful. The others in my party had 3 other dishes & all were happy with their meals. The waitress was very attentive & friendly. Our food came out quickly and was hot. Salsa was fresh & slightly spicy. The chips are made in house. All was wonderful.
Great Mexican food! We had the vegetarian gorditas and enchiladas which were great. Will be added to our list of stops when passing though Fort Stockton.
This place needs some help. Service is pretty terrible. Food takes forever. Not enough parking. I think they clean the tables with floor cleaner. Couldn’t get more chips and salsa, couldn’t get another beer. We definitely won’t be back.
Decent Mexican restaurant. The food was good and the place clean. The food came out exceedingly slow though. We didn't get our food tell almost 45 mins after placing our order
Nothing like some real "mexican" food with enchiladas overcooked in the microwave and welded to styrofoam container.
Arrived about 5pm on a thursday, were seated right away. Our server got our drink order pretty quickly. Once we ordered, our food came out pretty quickly. Everything was good. Hot and fresh. I got the chalupa plate, my husband got the tacos oj. We had to ask for extra napkins, I noticed that other tables were given extras right away. Our waitress was not very friendly, except to my husband. She asked him if he needed refill of his drink, but did not ask me. We also had to ask about dessert, she did not ask us. Maybe I'm too picky, but I did not feel that we were appreciated for our patronage.
If you find yourself in Fort Stockton there is literally nothing better than Tacos OJ. I was living here for a 3 month period and tried most of the restaurants in town. Tacos OJ is the only place in town with 5 star food. Literally everything on the menu is amazing I tried multiple different appetizers and entrees as well as desserts and each and every item was absolutely amazing. This was the only restaurant that I ate at more than once. And sometimes is was so good it was more than once a week.
amazing service, even for our giant party of 15. The wait was a little long but the food was delicious and it was so worth it.
Great food while traveling back to Arizona. We would definitely stop here again. Just the right amount of spices!
I moved away from West Texas 2 yrs ago and haven't had good Mexican food since then. I came here on recommendation of some other locals. IT IS THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD I'VE HAD IN 2 YEARS! I will be eating here every time I come to Fort Stockton.
The tacos OJ dish was great! Highly recommended stop on the way to Big Bend National Park.
Absolutely delicious! I got the Tacos OJ (beef) and they were so good. (Pictured below minus a taco lol)
Great lunch! Friendly service and plenty of choices. Excellent food, love the grilled tacos. Glad we stopped here.
I was passing by and came to this place after another Restaurant did not give us service . This place was excellent. Great food. I had the Tacos OJ and I was very pleased. I finished all my food and that never happens. I would be in every day if I lived in the area.
Waited for an hour and a half to get our food. Will never come back to this place again.
The food is soooo good! This is one of our favorite places to stop and eat when we are in town.
N E V E R AGAIN!! Ordered fajitas, took an hour, kept having to ask for salsa, water and water and then when the fajitas came out there was twice as many bell peppers as their was chicken. I think they must have had a sale on bell peppers and couldn’t find another chicken or something. The salsa was good = 2 stars.
Started off as a call for carry out, we made the call and said it would be about a 30-45 minute wait. We were placed on hold for a minute and then hung up on. After calling back, we were placed on hold on and off but finally placed our order after about five minutes and was told it would be 10-15 minutes. Since we had 4 items in the order, we had them repeat the order before hanging up, and they had it correct. Upon arrival, they repeated the order, but it was wrong. We corrected them and they brought out 3 of the 4 items after about 30 minutes, but the last one was wrong. It took 15 minutes to rush the the last order, and upon speaking to a manager, she did not seem to care at all. This led to most of the food being cold. The food was average but it's the service that put the review at a low level.
Very good friendly people very good food a little Pricy but its all worth clean
The food is sooooo good! The salsa is to die for! The service is great! Very friendly and fast.
They have really good food and good service. I would highly recommend it to everyone that enjoys Mexican food.
I had Enchiladas Montadas for the first time, and they were good. For those of you from San Antonio they resemble 3 soft tacos but not rolled, spread out instead with the meat in between the layers and an egg on top. It was very good. 👍👍...oh and they quickly said I could tie my mid-large dogs out front in the shade, that's worth at least 👍👍👍
